RECOSI launches Responsible Sourcing Criteria

London, United Kingdom – Today, the Responsible Commodities Sourcing Initiative (RECOSI), as part of its RECOSI Gas programme, announced the launch of the Responsible Sourcing Criteria.
RECOSI Gas is a new ESG framework that brings together the industry’s key players across the gas and LNG supply chain, from production to sale.
The programme has two distinct components that can help companies assess their ESG policies and performance, and address possible gaps:
Responsible Sourcing Criteria focus on policies that manage ESG supply chain risks
Responsible Gas Assets assess on-the-ground ESG impacts and opportunities
Both components are aligned with relevant regulation as well as international standards and expectations. Participating in RECOSI Gas supports engagement with our members who are buyers of gas and LNG and are committed to improving ESG performance in their supply chains.
The Responsible Sourcing Criteria are designed for companies selling gas and LNG, covering 12 relevant ESG topics, and are open to participants operating in any region. Companies can meet the Criteria at three development levels: Foundational, Good Practice and Leadership.
As part of the launch, we are beginning an ambitious engagement phase to connect with gas companies, key industry representatives and interested stakeholders, introduce RECOSI Gas and invite feedback to inform further programme development.
