RECOSI launches RECOSI Gas SAQ Version 2

London, United Kingdom – Today, the Responsible Commodities Sourcing Initiative (RECOSI), as part of its RECOSI Gas programme, announced the launch of version 2 of its Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) for natural gas and LNG assets.
RECOSI Gas is an ESG framework that brings together the industry’s key players across the gas and LNG supply chain, from production to sale.
The programme has two distinct components that can help companies demonstrate their ESG policies and performance and address possible gaps.
The Responsible Gas Assets component assesses on-the-ground ESG impacts and opportunities. The SAQ is a critical tool that was first piloted in 2024 and has since undergone revision to incorporate stakeholder feedback. It covers key E, S and G questions that are globally applicable and includes scoring metric: meets, partially meets, fully meets.
The second component is the Responsible Sourcing Criteria, which focus on policies that manage ESG supply chain risks, was launched earlier this year.
Both components are aligned with relevant regulation as well as international standards and expectations. We are embarking on an engagement phase to connect with gas companies, key industry representatives and interested stakeholders, introduce RECOSI Gas and invite them to participate and inform further programme development.
