Progressing RECOSI Programmes - one year since launch

It has been a year since we launched the Responsible Commodities Sourcing Initiative – RECOSI.

We’ve built on over a decade of experience operating a global ESG standard for coal, the Bettercoal Programme, and have expanded and diversified our work, so that we can support members in due diligence monitoring across their energy commodities supply chains.

We’re developing the RECOSI Gas Programme and have evolved the programme so that we’re now working on two components, which reflect our members’ and the gas industry’s production, sourcing and supply chain structures.  

• The Responsible Sourcing Criteria can be used by members for their direct counterparts, such as traders or utilities, that hold title of the sold gas.  

• The Self-Assessment Questionnaire covers gas assets and LNG terminals and can be used by members with direct relationships with producers.

We continue to work collaboratively with members so that they can meet growing regulatory requirements, demonstrate ESG leadership and foster continuous improvement in their supply chains.
